The Gloucester Forum decided to arrange a fire safety talk for people supported in the Gloucester area.
They felt they needed to get advice around fire safety so that they could take more responsibility for this around their homes.

Local Fire Officers came and gave a talk on everything from the use of dishwashers and washing machines to charging electrical appliances and discussing evacuation plans.
The group really engaged with them and enjoyed chatting to them about what they do.

The question of “Do you still rescue cats from trees” also came up and I am pleased to say…….they do.

After the talk, one of the fire officers put on the PPE required if they are called out to tackle a fire. This was so people would not be alarmed should they ever have to call out the fire brigade and would know what to expect.

Everyone had an opportunity to look over the fire truck and try on some of the PPE.
