The vacancy is in a first floor bedroom, for a man or woman with medium to high support needs. He/she would be sharing the house with one man and one woman with learning disabilities, and would become a tenant of Charter Housing Association.

This semi-detached house is situated on a main road in a quiet residential area about 5 minutes from a retail park and 10 minutes from the centre of Blackwood. There is a park close by and a local GP, shops, hairdresser and pub about 10 minutes walk away.

Ground floor

  • Living room with patio doors leading to patio and garden at the rear of the house
  • Large kitchen/dining room
  • Utility room
  • One downstairs bedroom with en-suite facilities

First floor

  • Two bedrooms
  • Walk-in level shower room and toilet
  • Study/sleep-in room for staff

There is a driveway for off road parking. The large secluded rear garden is level and mainly laid to lawn with a large raised bed.

A primary worker is allocated to ensure support for each customer's needs. A dedicated and experienced staff team provides a 24 hour support service including sleep-in cover.

The team will:

  • assist in developing and promoting your independence
  • oversee your well being
  • support you with shopping, preparing meals, domestic chores if appropriate
  • assist you with financial affairs so that you receive your benefits entitlements and that you have access to suitable banking services
  • assist you to access and maintain appropriate day opportunities or seek employment if you require
  • treat you with privacy and dignity in any aspects of personal care you require
  • help you maintain and develop social, community and family networks.

We are able to offer support to anyone with a learning disability (including a person who may also have mental health problems).
