The philosophy of Extra Care is to
enable older people to live independently
in their own homes for as long as possible.

This principle underpins our Extra Care Service which enables older people to retain their independence, respect and dignity within the community.

The service is based at the Cefn Glas Extra Care scheme in Blackwood, which comprises 42 self contained flats and a range of communal facilities (including a social centre, restaurant, lounges, beauty salon, shop, and hobbies rooms).

We assist individuals with their daily needs and personal care, and support them with their interests and leisure activities.

This innovative service helps older people to retain their independence whilst having the sense of security and comfort which comes from knowing that on site support is available 24 hours a day.
